Entities overview | API

An entity is the individual you are seeking to verify through Credas. Entities are also referred to as individuals within the Credas system.

Within the API entities are identifiable by their entityId. The entityId is a guid that is unique to each entity within the Credas system.

Best practice

Where possible we recommend that you only create one entity per individual. By having a single for each individual you are able to use this one record as a single source of 'truth.

Example

You initially create entity 123 when conducting your onboarding checks. After 6 months entity 123 has exceeded the low risk threshold so you are required to perform additional international screening & source of funds checks.

By performing these checks against the same entity you can associate both the onboarding & enhanced checks within the same record.

Note: Don't worry if you can't follow this, our API will not prevent you from creating multiple entities with the same information.
